ANKARA, Nov. 23 (Xinhuanet) — Turkish security forces have seized 163 kg of heroin in their recent operations in Esenler and Umraniye districts of Istanbul, the semi-official Anatolia News Agency reported on Tuesday.
Concerned sources were quoted as saying that a total of eightpeople were taken into custody and the detainees confessed that they were planning to market the drugs in European countries.A full investigation into the drug trafficking is under way.Last week, acting on a tip-off, Turkish gendarmery seized 42.7kg of hashish in an operation in a village of the eastern city of Van.
